OUR MISSION
STATEMENT
KUZA AFRICA:
KYOGA, UGANDA,
EAST AFRICA
Kuza
Kuza is the Luganda word for 'Raise' or raising children in the proper way in society.
Kyoga Village
Kyoga is a small village 25 miles north of Kampala City, the capital of Uganda. Named after a seasonal papyrus-filled river running through south western Uganda.
Main Economy of the Community
Subsistance farming is mainly practiced by the families in the village. Maize (Corn) is mainly grown on small plots of land along with beans and green bananas for home consuption and the remainder sold or traded for household items like sugar, salt, soap and kerosene for lamps.
Our Mission is to "raise up God-fearing, Morally Upright, and Economically Self Sustaining Responsible Citizens". We do this by providing free quality academic education, instruction in morals, health and sexual/STD awareness classes from a very early age, facilitating practical skills to teenagers and young adults equipping them with knowledge to create income for themselves and support for their impoverished families.
We are in the process of building a children's ministry and resource center that will house a fully stocked library with Academic Text Books, Computers and research materials which are essential in academic excellence, a kitchen and dining room where we can host children under our care and others from the village to a balanced diet meal at least thrice a week, a ministry auditorium where children, teenagers and young adults will receive instruction on biblical teachings and the Christian Life as well as activities and lessons pertaining to health, income creation and management. This Center will also provide a safe place and accomodation for children who have lost their parents through HIV AIDS, or been abandoned and neglected by their own relatives.
Kuza Africa is a ministry that was initiated as a response to the overwhelming number of orphaned and neglected children and teenagers in Kyoga, Uganda raising themselves as a result of HIV AIDS outbreak, abject poverty and diseases.
